Paccar Scout Camp will once again be opening it’s doors to Scout and Guide Families for Camping and Activities from 11th—17th August 2025.

Below you will find all the information you need and will hopefully answer any questions you might have.

  • In order to camp one member of your family must be a current, active member of the Scout Association or Girlguiding.
  • You can camp for as many or as few nights as you wish up until Sunday 17th August 2025
  • You can arrive and depart at whatever time of day suits you
  • The booking form specifically asks for details of the person who is a member and the group they are a member of, which will be checked. We are not open to “General Public Camping”
  • You will need to bring your own camping equipment and be self
  • Paccar will be unable to provide any catering services other than drinks and confectionary and ice cream. (Supermarket deliveries are possible)
  • Camping pitches are available on both camping fields and also on all woodland There are also great hammocking areas available
  • We do not allow ground fires on any part of the site, but “Fire Bowls” are available free of charge so you can sit around the fire. Woodpiles are around the site we ask you to keep fires under control and not to try and burn the entire woodpile on your first night
  • If you are using BBQ’s they must be kept off the ground
  • For this period only we have relaxed our “No Dogs” rule and welcome well behaved dogs who must be kept under control preferably on a lead and with your family at all times.
  • We have also relaxed our rules regarding camper vans and caravans, on our field pitches you can bring them, we do have power points which can be hooked up to for a charge of £7 per day.
  • Each Family Unit must book independently, we are unable to take any “Group Bookings”
  • If you want to camp on the same pitch as another Family please state this by email once you have your booking reference number.
  • Toilet and Shower Facilities are open with no additional charges.
  • Alcohol is allowed on site but must be kept within the boundary of your site.  Alcohol must be consumed in moderation whilst at Paccar.  Failure to follow these rules may result in you being asked to leave the site.

This is not a Scout or Guide event, those holding Scout (or Guide) permits for activities will not be able to run activities.  Paccar instructors will be running activities at all times.

The adventure area will be open at all times and available to use free of charge.  Children doing so must be supervised by a family member at all times

Activity Days (Non-residential)

Of course if camping isn’t your thing but would still like to come and take part in some of the activities on offer please just get in contact!

Camping

Camping will be available on our field or woodland pitches. (woodland pitches do not have access to 240v hook-up)

Camping is charged at £8.40 per person per night.

Rubbish & Recycling

Please come prepared to recycle and ensure the clear instructions on recycling bins is followed.  Paccar is run by Volunteers and climbing into bins to remove contaminated waste is not a reasonable thing to have to do.

Activity Booking

Once you have completed the booking form, within a few days you will receive confirmation back which will include a booking reference number.

You will need to use this reference to book activities, which will be done online via a link we will send you.

The following activities will be open to all at the flat rate of £7.20 (inc VAT) per participant for a one hour session.

Local Shops

Chalfont St Peter Village is a 15 Minute walk and has  a selection of shops and convenience stores.  It also has a chip shop, a number of takeaways, coffee shops etc.

The nearest large supermarket is Tesco In Gerrard’s Cross or a larger Sainsbury’s in Uxbridge,

Activity Restrictions

  • Zip Wires has a maximum weight limit of Small children can go on so long as they fit safely into a harness as a guide we regularly have 6 year olds on zipwires.
  • Abseiling is flexible, under normal circumstances it would be open to Beavers (age 6) and Smaller ones might not be able to manage it.
  • Archery: Any children under 8 will need a parent to be with them to help on a one to one Minimum age is 6.
  • Gladiator Challenge can be a challenge for little ones, we restrict it to over 8’s as small children are too short / don’t have upper body strength to pull themselves up
  • To take part in caving, it’s a requirement to have long sleeves and trousers.
